The 13-year-old boy that was shot by a woman who caught him and a group of males breaking into her car, in which someone in the group allegedly threatened the woman with a firearm, died from his injury yesterday afternoon.

A Chicago Housing Authority security officer exchanged gunfire last night with at least one of three offenders who were already engaged in a gunfight with each other, and there are now three offenders in custody and four people shot and wounded, including the CHA security officer.

Hyde Park woman defends herself, wounds 13-year-old among group caught breaking into her car
A woman caught a group breaking into her car last night in Hyde Park and someone in the group threatened her with a gun. The victim, a valid CCL holder, had her own weapon on her person and fired a shot that wounded a 13-year-old male in the group, authorities said.
