A 6-year-old is in critical condition after he was shot in the back on Wednesday afternoon. It's an injury the child suffered while just, you know, being inside an apartment in the Woodlawn neighborhood.

Aw shucks, I almost forgot the attempted kidnapping of the 9-year-old girl Wednesday morning. She was shopping with her grandmother in the West Ridge neighborhood on the city's north side when a man grabbed her and ran around the corner of the store. She bit him in the hand and was able to get away.

Also Wednesday afternoon, four teen boys were on a front porch of a boarded up home in Englewood when all four of them were shot.

A 15-year-old, later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Benjamin Ortega, was shot in the 2400 block of S. Trumbull in the Little Village neighborhood around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday Night. The teen was able to get himself to Mount Sinai hospital after he was shit, and he was initially listed in serious condition at Mount Sinai, but he later died from his injuries.

A 14-year-old boy was walking on the 8200 block of S. Yates in the South Chicago neighborhood near Eckersall Park when someone shot him from a green SUV.

The teen was shot three times. Once in the upper abdomen, once in the hip, and once in the shoulder. He was dropped off at University of Chicago Hospital in fair condition.
