In October 2019, former CEO Steve Easterbrook was engaging in a prohibited relationship with a female subordinate. The board terminated Easterbrook “without cause,” allowing him to retain tens of millions of dollars in stock-based benefits and other compensation, while firing Fairhurst “for cause.”

Vallas, a former schools CEO backed by the police union, and Johnson, a Cook County commissioner endorsed by the Chicago Teachers Union, advanced to the April 4 runoff after none of the nine candidates was able to secure over 50% of the vote to win outright.

The suspect had an active warrant for his arrest for attempted murder that was issued Feb. 7, and was being pursued by officers in Illinois for a traffic violation just before 7 p.m. Friday when the chase entered Indiana.

As the two vehicles fled, one of the drivers ran her over, causing serious injuries to her extremities. She was hospitalized in serious condition.

Kane started and seemed to be soaking in the United Center ambiance as he stood at the blue line and looked up to the crowd during the national anthem. Kane, second in points in Blackhawks franchise history, has been the subject of trade rumors.
Crime
Las Vegas police Officer Robert Wicks said an investigation of Keeler's unexpected death remained open pending coroner and detective findings. Wicks said the call was initially handled as a medical call.
