CHICAGO - Two 15-year-old males, one 15-year-old female, and one 13-year-old male were among those shot in the overnight hours in three separate shooting incidents, Chicago Police said.



The first incident occured in the 5700 block of S. Justine yesterday in the early evening. At approx. 5:46 p.m., a 15-year-old female was near the street when she was approached by multiple offenders who produced handguns and fired shots.

The female victim was struck in the thigh and transported to Comer Children's Hospital initially reported in good condition.

An additional victim, a 40-year-old male, was struck in the back and self transported to St. Bernard Hospital and was initially reported in critical condition.

There are no offenders in custody and area detectives are investigating.


The second incident occurred just before midnight in the 6800 block of S Wolcott.

A 13-year-old male was walking outside when two unknown male blacks wearing all black (no further description) emerged from the gangway and fired shots, striking him in the abdomen and leg.

He was initially reported in fair condition and transported to Comer Children’s Hospital.

No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate and the victim does not appear to be known to police. Additionally, it is currently unknown if the victim was the intended target in this incident.


The third incident occurred in the 900 block of N Orleans around 2:15 a.m.

Investigators said witness saw unknown occupants of a possibly red Dodge Charger firing shots at a gray sedan. Two 15-year-old male teenagers were standing on the sidewalk and on suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and the other suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and foot. Both were transported to Lurie Children's Hospital and initially reported in fair condition.

A third victim in this shooting was a 38-year-old male Uber driver, who was shot in the hand while sitting in his parked Toyota Prius, waiting to pick up passengers. The Uber driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. None of the victims have a history with Chicago Police.

CWBChicago reported this morning that shortly after this shooting, a CPD traffic unit found a bullet-riddled gray sedan on Lake Shore Drive near Balbo Drive.[1]

CWBChicago's reporting includes quotes from the officers, but a fourth victim was located at this scene. The victim in the gray sedan, a 20-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to the left torso and was transported in serious condition to Northwestern Hospital.

None of the occupants of the gray sedan seemed to know where it happened. Detectives are still investigating.
