26-year-old Asian man shot on porch in Logan Square
CHICAGO - Authorities said a 26-year-old male was shot and killed in the Logan Square neighborhood Saturday morning while standing on the porch of a friend's home.
The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. Saturday morning in the 2100 block of N Albany, near the intersection of N Albany and W Dickens Avenues in the Logan Square neighborhood.
Police said a 26-year-old male was standing on the porch of a friend’s home when he sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The man was transported to Mt. Sinai where he was pronounced dead a little after 4:00 a.m.
The victim was discovered by his friend in the home who heard the loud sound of gun fire.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the victim was Suraj M. Mahadeva, 26, of the 3300 block of W Potomac Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.
There is no one in custody at this time and Area Five detectives are investigating.
