14-year-old girl in critical condition, shot while inside West Pullman home
According to police reports, the young victim was inside her bedroom in her residence when she heard gunshots coming from the street outside. She immediately felt pain and discovered she had been hit.
WEST PULLMAN, CHICAGO – A 14-year-old girl was critically injured in a shooting incident early this morning when bullets came flying into her home in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood.
The shooting occurred around 1:24 a.m. on the 12600 block of S. Lowe in the city's West Pullman neighborhood on the city's far south side.
According to police reports, the young victim was inside her bedroom in her residence when she heard gunshots coming from the street outside. She immediately felt pain and discovered she had been hit. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds to her left thigh.
Chicago Fire Department (CFD) personnel were dispatched to the scene and transported the victim to Comer Children's Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Chicago Police were reportedly able to find 9 shell casings outside the home.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and no suspect information has been released. Area Two detectives have taken over the investigation and are actively seeking leads.
